Manila Water, DENR and LGUs seal partnership for Adopt-An-Estero program

East Zone concessionaire Manila Water led the Adopt-an-Estero Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Ceremonial Signing together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and several local government units (LGUs) which included Quezon City, San Juan City and Mandaluyong City to fully implement the clean-up and rehabilitation of San Juan River and its tributaries. The program further underscores the commitment of each partner-agency to address pressing issues about the environment.

Manila Water signs agreement for the construction of Hinulugang Taktak Sewage Treatment Plant

While observing strict protocols related to COVID-19, Manila Water recently organized a ceremonial signing of the usufruct agreement that will set the ball rolling for the construction of the Hinulugang Taktak Sewage Treatment Plant in Antipolo City. Participating in the signing ceremony are DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, Antipolo City Mayor Andrea B. Ynares, as well as Manila Water President and CEO Jose Rene D. Almendras, and Chief Operating Officer Abelardo P. Basilio.

Manila Water registers flat earnings growth in the first half of 2020

Manila Water net income for the first half of 2020 was relatively flat, increasing 1 percent from the same period last year to ₱2.48 billion. The lower contribution from domestic subsidiaries, coupled with recognition of additional estimates for various exposures across the group, weighed down on earnings.
