Manila Water Foundation, the social development arm of Manila Water Company, kicked off its month-long celebration of its 19th anniversary this February, spearheading several projects and programs to champion Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) across the Philippines with the theme “Celebrating Ripples of WASH.”
Manila Water, a leading player in the water industry, has reached a significant milestone by earning its very first A- score in water security from the renowned environmental non-profit organization, CDP. This achievement reflects Manila Water's unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and its dedication to ensuring water security for the communities it serves.
Amid geopolitical tensions, the Manila Water Foundation rallies partners to offer beacons of hope for Palawan barangays including the Pag-asa Island through a donation handover event dubbed as Mga Alon ng Kalinga at Pag-asa (Waves of Care and Hope). During the partnership event, Manila Water President and CEO and MWF President, Jocot de Dios welcomed Civil Relations Service Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSRAFP) Commander Brigadier General Ramon Zagala, with MWSS Public Policy and Public Relations Department Head Christian Baluca sharing a message of support on behalf of MWSS Administrator Engineer Leonor Cleofas.
Manila Water Foundation led activities in the celebration of World Toilet Day (WTD) with the theme: "Accelerating Change”. MWF, the social development arm of Manila Water adds: Accelerate Change. Sanitasyon, Lahat Aksyon!" A World Toilet Day Sanitation Fair attended by Special Science students and parents was held at F. Ma. Guerrero Elementary School in Paco, Manila in partnership with the City of Manila LGU, Department of Education Schools Division Office of Manila and private sector partners, joining hands to promote proper sanitation for good health.
Manila Water celebrated its 11th Toka Toka Awards with over 90 barangay representatives from 23 barangays in the East Zone of Metro Manila and parts of Rizal Province at the MWSS Multipurpose Hall in Balara, Quezon City, on 17 November 2023. With this year's theme, "Sama-sama sa 11sang Toka", the company honored top-performing barangays for helping the company achieve its desludging targets as a vehicle for building sustainable communities.
