Manila Water made history by becoming the first water company from the Philippines and from any developing country, to be given the distinction as Water Company of the Year in the highly coveted 2022 Global Water Awards as part of the 2022 Global Water Summit held recently at the La Quinta De Jarama in Madrid, Spain.
Manila Water reports lower NRW level, among the lowest in the whole of Asia
Manila Water remains committed to maintain its non-revenue water (NRW) after reporting an average NRW level of 12%, as of March 2022. This level of NRW is unprecedented in the history of the Philippine water sector and is among the lowest in the whole of Asia. The standard NRW rate, as recommended by World Bank, is 25% or lower.
Manila Water CEO shares practices on adapting to climate impact

Manila Water reduced GHG emissions by 9,000 tons in 2021
Manila Water Company’s use of at least 13 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green energy in 2021 has reduced its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by over 9,000 tons. According to Jocot de Dios, President and CEO of Manila Water, the utilization of 13.8 kWh of renewable energy enabled the water concessionaire to attain a decrease of 9,100 tons in its carbon emissions.
Manila Water bags runner-up win in Singapore Water Week poster presentation
Manila Water’s wastewater team scored a runner-up win for its Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Enhanced Conventional Activated System (ECAS) poster presentation at the recently concluded 2022 Singapore International Water Week’s (SIWW 2022). Presented by Manila Water Wastewater Process Treatment Specialist Arthur Villaflor, the poster detailed how existing treatment facilities were retrofitted to comply with upgraded standards for BNR all in one page.
