In celebration of World Water Day on 22 March with the theme “Accelerating Change”, Manila Water launches its latest advocacy that will focus on educators as primary instruments of change as they help raise awareness on the importance of water education in health and the environment.

Manila Water Company (MWC) and Manila Water Foundation (MWF) renew their commitment to the environment and sustainability through donation of one million pesos to Million Trees Foundation, Inc. (MTFI) during their second anniversary celebration as an organization. Every year since 2021, a Php 1-M donation was also made by MWC and MWF for MTFI to develop its onsite office and establish the nursery at the 5-hectare property at the La Mesa Watershed.

Boracay Island has been consistently recognized around the world as one of the premier tourist destinations because of its pristine beaches and powdery white sand. As the Island is highly dependent on tourism for economic viability, it needs to address the continuing threat of environmental degradation due to increasing usage of water and subsequent treatment and disposal of wastewater brought about by the influx of tourists, domestic and foreign alike.

Supporting the call from the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) to ensure water supply during the dry months, Manila Water has begun implementing measures to maximize production of its treatments plants and water sources, as it prepares for the expected increase in demand in summer.

Manila Water bags 2 distinctions at the 58th Anvil Awards, hosted by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), one of the premier institutions in the country in the field of public relations. In the Gabi ng Parangal awarding ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City, PRSP awarded Silver Anvil Awards to ‘BOW: Balita on Wednesdays’ of Manila Water’s Corporate Communication Affairs Group, and to ‘H2O: Highland to Ocean’ program of Manila Water Philippine Ventures’ operating unit Boracay Water.
