Notice to Boracay Island Water Co. Inc. Customers
Pursuant to the recommendation of the TIEZA Regulatory Office as approved by the TIEZA Board in its Resolution No. R-25-04-18-B dated April 25, 2018, effective 15 days after publication in two newspapers of general circulation, Boracay Island Water Company, Inc. (BIWC) shall implement the discontinuance of the 14.34% downward adjustment from the September 2015 Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA), thus applying a 0.00% FCDA effective August 17, 2018.
‘Bora’ foundation appeals to DENR to reconsider memo on treatment plants
The Boracay Foundation appealed to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to reconsider its decision in reference to DENR Memorandum Circular No. 2018, 06 dated June 26, 2018, which requires establishments in the long beach area of Boracay to have its own Sewage Treatment Plant. Boracay Water amplifies desludging services, gets more wastewater trucks
Boracay Water recently acquired an additional 3 desludging trucks that can haul up to 9 cubic meters of wastewater or used water from households and establishments that are yet to connect to the sewer system.
Boracay Water plugs 36 illegal pipes
As part of the continuing rehabilitation efforts to ensure proper wastewater management in the island, Boracay Water, in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), plugged additional 36 pipes illegally connected to the drainage system.
Boracay Water supports drainage clearing operations
Boracay Island Water Company (Boracay Water) has extended its efforts to support the current drainage clearing operations of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) by providing a temporary interceptor and diversion system that will redirect the drainage water to the company’s Balabag Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).
