JOINT PRESS RELEASE OF MWSS, MAYNILAD AND MANILA WATER: Total Plant Shutdown of the Angat Hydro-Electric Powerplant (AHEPP)
The Angat Hydropower Corporation, which is the operator of the Angat Hydro-Electric Powerplant (AHEPP), will undertake major repair and rehabilitation of its existing penstock in conjunction with the modernization of the powerplant. The primary objective of the undertaking is to prolong the lifespan of the plant to ensure a stable water supply for the domestic and irrigation water supply. To achieve this, a Total Plant Shutdown (TPS) of AHEPP is required for 61-days, starting from 06 November 2023 to 06 January 2024.
Manila Water has emptied a total of 39,712 septic tanks just for the first half of 2023 through its desludging caravan. Every month, Manila Water’s desludging caravan goes around scheduled barangays in its service areas in the East Zone of Metro Manila and the Province of Rizal to offer siphoning services at no additional cost.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING: Manila Water’s Application for the Extension of the Term of the Revised Concession Agreement (RCA)
The application seeks the extension of the expiration date of the RCA from July 31, 2037 to July 31, 2047, to coincide with the term of Manila Water’s 25-year legislative franchise.

Laguna Water, a Manila Water operating subsidiary providing water, used water, and environmental services in several municipalities in Laguna, has recently declared and paid out dividends to its shareholders, including the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL), for the year 2022. The PGL received dividends amounting to PHP186 million.
