The ‘Light Up to WASHup! Beaming Forces for Good in the Ipo Watershed’ project of Manila Water Foundation (MWF) and One Meralco Foundation (OMF) has been recently recognized as the Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Collaboration Project in the CSR Guild Awards 2023 of the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF).

Over 40 students from Balara Elementary School and San Vicente Elementary School joined Manila Water’s Arbor Day boot camp at the Orosa Open Grounds in the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) complex in Balara, Quezon City, on 30 June 2023. Dubbed as “Punong Puno ng Pag-asa: Arbor Day Bootcamp for Kids,” the bootcamp featured activities geared towards gaining a deeper appreciation of the environment especially in the protection of the watersheds.

In a bid to promote a deeper appreciation of the water trail processes, Manila Water gave a guided tour to the first batch of teachers from the East Zone of Metro Manila through its “SALIN-Lakbayan Para Sa Mga Guro” Program in observance of the Environment Month this June.

Manila Water Foundation, MWSS, and Safeguard Philippines handed over product support to 12 public hospitals in their campaign to promote hand washing with soap and water to avoid the spread of germs and communicable diseases. This is part of the Health in our Hands program of Manila Water Foundation which aims to raise awareness on the importance of sanitation and the healthy habits of proper toothbrushing and proper hand washing. The donation handover is a concrete synergy response as the Department of Health (DOH) notes a rise in COVID-19 cases and reports that the country now has 28 infections of the XBB.1.16 Omicron COVID-19 subvariant commonly known as the “Arcturus”.  

Manila Water continues to promote gender equality in the workplace, with a majority of women taking on leadership and technical roles. To date, the number of women leaders in its key departments is equal to men and even higher.
