Calbayog Water, a subsidiary of Manila Water Philippine Ventures, has successfully completed the annual spot audit for its water testing laboratory conducted by the Department of Health Region VIII.

The audit evaluated different aspects of the water testing laboratory's operations, including its testing procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water. Calbayog Water successfully met all the requirements, resulting in no deficiency findings.

The water laboratory offers a range of testing services, including conventional Total Coliform and E. coli tests, Rapid Total Coliform Tests, and Heterotrophic plate counts. These tests ensure that the water supplied by Calbayog Water meets the stringent quality standards set by regulatory bodies. Moreover, the laboratory extends its services to external stakeholders, fostering a broader impact within the community.

Last year, Calbayog Water also participated in the 2023 Proficiency Testing Scheme for Microbiological Analysis of Drinking Water, conducted by the National Reference Laboratory of East Avenue Medical Center wherein the water laboratory established proficiency in microbiological analysis, reinforcing its position as a reliable testing facility.
