Manila Water and AC Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ayala Corporation recently entered into a retail electricity supply agreement.

The power purchase from AC Energy provides Manila Water the most value through savings on power consumption costs. The agreement covers the two-year supply of electricity to five Manila Water facilities currently enrolled under Open Access. These are the Balara Pumping Station, San Juan Pumping Station, Kingsville Pumping Station, Siruna Pumping Station, and Fort Bonifacio Pumping Station. The water company has an aggregate monthly demand of 1 megawatt (MW).

Manila Water President and CEO Ferdinand Dela Cruz said the company is pleased with the results where it procured the best offer among a host of excellent Retail Electricity Supply Providers. “Our customers will benefit from lower power cost and power reliability through this contract which will allow us to run our facilities smoothly and ultimately, serve our water and used water customers well," adds Dela Cruz.

This agreement highlights the shared vision of both companies and takes the partnership between Manila Water and AC Energy to new heights in providing value to both company's stakeholders.

Since the grant of its retail electricity supply license in September 2016 by the energy Regulatory Commission, AC Energy Retail now has 100MW contestable customers under its portfolio.
