To keep our stakeholders well-informed and involved in the said projects, the MWSS RO will conduct a Virtual Public Consultation in three (3) separate sessions for the East Zone concession. The aim of this activity is to explain and clarify the plans for the water supply projects; discuss the possible effects of these projects on customers’ water rates; and directly address the concerns and issues of affected customers.

East Zone concessionaire Manila Water led the Adopt-an-Estero Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Ceremonial Signing together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and several local government units (LGUs) which included Quezon City, San Juan City and Mandaluyong City to fully implement the clean-up and rehabilitation of San Juan River and its tributaries. The program further underscores the commitment of each partner-agency to address pressing issues about the environment.

While observing strict protocols related to COVID-19, Manila Water recently organized a ceremonial signing of the usufruct agreement that will set the ball rolling for the construction of the Hinulugang Taktak Sewage Treatment Plant in Antipolo City. Participating in the signing ceremony are DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, Antipolo City Mayor Andrea B. Ynares, as well as Manila Water President and CEO Jose Rene D. Almendras, and Chief Operating Officer Abelardo P. Basilio.

The Board of Trustees of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) has approved the fourth-quarter Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) of 1.17% of the basic charge, equivalent to P0.33 per cubic meter, effective October 1, 2020.

As the pandemic persists, Manila Water Foundation (MWF), together with its partners P&G Safeguard Philippines, JCI Quezon City Capitol, and the Quezon City Government, formally inaugurated four new handwashing facilities and rehabilitated two (2) existing ones in various strategic public areas in Quezon City on September 4.
