Manila Water breaks ground for its 42nd sewage treatment plant

Manila Water recently held a ceremonial groundbreaking to mark the commencement of Mandaluyong West Sewerage System Project, held at the construction site of the Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Barangay Old Zaniga, Mandaluyong City. The Aglipay STP is the 42nd sewage treatment facility of Manila Water in Metro Manila’s East Zone, and will have a treatment capacity of 60 million liter per day (MLD) of wastewater to be collected from 2,115 hectares of catchment area spanning across Mandaluyong, San Juan and Quezon Cities.

Manila Water’s Adopt-an-Estero program commences with San Juan River clean-up

East Zone concessionaire Manila Water began to activate its Adopt-an-Estero program with various interventions to clean up San Juan River beginning at Maytunas and Ermitanyo Creeks in Brgy. Addition Hills, San Juan City. The program is in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the local government of San Juan City.  It will be recalled that a landmark Memorandum of Agreement to rehabilitate San Juan River was signed in late September of last year with Manila Water, DENR and the three other local government units where the river traverses namely: San Juan City, Mandaluyong and Quezon City.

Manila Water rates to go down effective January 1, 2021 due to FCDA

Effective 01 January 2021, water rates for the customers of Manila Water Company, Inc. will have a Php0.14 per cubic meter tariff reduction. The Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) is 0.66% of the basic charge or Php0.19 per cubic meter. Low-income households consuming 10 cubic meters a month or less will be exempt from the adjustment.

SERVICE ADVISORY: Preventive maintenance activity in Cardona Water Treatment Plant on Nov. 23, 2020

To ensure reliability of water supply in its influence area, Manila Water will be undertaking preventive maintenance works at its Cardona Water Treatment Plant in Rizal. This will result to temporary water service interruption affecting over 285,000 population in 57,049 households, commercial and business establishments in 58 barangays in several towns in Rizal Province, beginning Monday, November 23, 2020 at 9:00 PM until 6:00 AM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
