Manila Water rates to go down effective January 1, 2021 due to FCDA

Effective January 1, 2021, water rates for Manila Water customers will have a Php0.14 per cubic meter tariff reduction. The Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment (FCDA) is 0.66% of the basic charge or Php0.19 per cubic meter. Low-income households consuming 10 cubic meters a month or less will be exempt from the adjustment.

FCDA does not affect or improve the profitability of the Company. It is merely a tariff mechanism formulated to account for foreign exchange losses or gains arising from the payment by Manila Water of concession loans and foreign-currency denominated borrowings of MWSS, as well as loans of the Company for service expansion and improvement of its services. The tariff adjustment has no impact on its projected net income.
