For 2023, East Zone concessionaire Manila Water has emptied a total of 117,075 septic tanks in its service area through its intensified desludging caravan.

As part of regulatory compliance and commitment to sustainability, Manila Water provides monthly desludging services to its customers to ensure that household wastewater will be properly treated before being discharged in bodies of water. Before the scheduled desludging, Manila Water also conducts information, education, and communication sessions on sanitation to inform customers of the benefits of desludging to public health and the environment.

Customers are highly encouraged to attend these IECs and avail of the desludging services.

In April, Manila Water’s desludging trucks will go around Barangays Bahay Toro, Botocan, Mariana, Socorro, Tagumpay, Teachers Village East, West Crame, Vasra and Ugong Norte in Quezon City; Barangay 763, 768, 771, 779, 805, and 807 in the City of Manila; Barangay Pag-asa, Bagong Silang, Harapin ang Bukas, and Mauway in Mandaluyong City; Barangay Bel-air, San Lorenzo, and Pio Del Pilar in Makati City; Barangay Pinagsama in Taguig City; Barangay Manggahan in Pasig City; and Barangay Sta. Lucia in San Juan City.

Barangays Cupang, San Jose and San Roque in Antipolo City; San Jose, Manggahan and Burgos in Montalban; San Vicente in Angono; and San Juan in Taytay, will also be visited by Manila Water’s desludging caravan next month.

Manila Water also reminds its customer that the regular desludging service comes with no additional cost.

“If our customers from the barangays scheduled encounter anyone who charges fees for the desludging service, please do not transact with them and report them immediately to us,” says Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Director.
