Production of Manila Water’s Cardona Treatment Plant now up to 50 MLD

Manila Water’s Cardona Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is now distributing up to 50 million liters of water per day (MLD) initially to barangays in Binangonan, Angono, Taytay, Baras and Jalajala, Rizal. Other beneficiary areas in Rizal will soon receive water when the plant progressively increases production in the coming months. The Cardona WTP started its operations last March 14, 2019, following completion of Phase 1 of the project and will help augment the water supply for the East Zone.

Manila Water to abide with MWSS decision on financial penalty

Manila Water will abide by the decision of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) to pay a financial penalty upon the recommendation of the MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) declaring that the East Zone concessionaire should be penalized under Section 10.4 of the Concession Agreement for its inability to meet its service obligations to provide 24/7 water supply to its consumers.
