Manila Water rehabilitates its Liwasan ng Kagitingan at Kalikasan

Make-Over at the Park. Manila Water completes the rehabilitation of the Liwasan ng Kagitingan at Kalikasan-Taguig North Sewage Treatment Plant (LKK-Taguig North STP) Recreational Park. The make-over, which began in 2021, includes the restoration works of its landscaping and park vegetation, construction of a nature park and lagoon, installation of a pavilion fountain pump, and irrigation works.

Manila Water prepares emergency reservoirs in time for National Disaster Consciousness Month

In line with the observance of National Disaster Consciousness Month in July, Manila Water prepares to energize all eight (8) emergency reservoirs the company constructed to help promote disaster risk reduction and preparedness of cities and municipalities in Metro Manila’s East Zone.  These emergency reservoirs (ER) are intended to provide potable water in evacuation centers and help augment supply during calamities and disasters such as typhoons and earthquakes.

Manila Water to start surveillance of wastewater for SARS-CoV-2

As part of Manila Water’s COVID-19 response, it is set to begin operations of its first-ever molecular laboratory to capture the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater. The facility is designed to detect and quantify the virus in wastewater using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) machines, which are capable in amplifying small segments of DNA or RNA to an amount large enough to be studied in detail. Data to be generated in this molecular lab can help communities formulate actions in mitigating COVID-19 in its early stages of emergence or re-emergence as wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) can detect the virus even before people show symptoms.

Manila Water releases desludging schedule for the month of July

Manila Water has announced its desludging schedule for the month of July as it encourages its customers to avail of the services to prevent clogging of their septic vaults in order to help protect waterways, creeks and rivers from untreated septic tank overflows. Manila Water assured that barangays scheduled for this month will not be charged any additional fees to avail of the desludging services.

Manila Water modernizes 21st Pumping Station in Taguig

Manila Water has recently upgraded the pumps and motors at 21st pumping station (PS) to meet increasing water supply demand in Taguig City. The upgrade is composed of rightsizing three (3) sets of motor pumps with capacity of 90 million liters per day (MLD) of water each, operated with 700 horsepower (HP), as well as modification of pump and motor base and fittings.
