As part of its 140th founding anniversary, the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) presented and unveiled “The Palafox Masterplan for the MWSS Water Eco-Tourism Hub,” a joint project of Manila Water and Maynilad in celebration of 20 years of successful partnership, at the MWSS Lobby last February 1.

Manila Water will implement a 2.8% Consumer Price Index adjustment on the 2017 basic charge effective January 1, 2018 following the approval and confirmation of the new rates by the MWSS Regulatory Office as contained in its Resolution No. 2017-08-CA dated October 18, 2017 and the MWSS Board of Trustees as contained in the Resolution No. 2017-140-RO dated October 26, 2017. 

Manila Water President and CEO Ferdinand M. Dela Cruz was conferred the 2017 Most Distinguished Alumnus Award by the University of the Philippines Alumni Engineers (UPAE) Association, Inc. during the UPAE 70th Anniversary and Alumni Homecoming held on November 18 at the UP Ang Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City.

Manila Water is implementing a series of projects worth Php1.35 billion to ensure the stability and reliability of several water treatment and distribution structures in Balara, Quezon City.

Manila Water recently held groundbreaking ceremonies to mark the commencement of the construction of two underground emergency reservoir projects intended to serve as potable water source in evacuation centers in the aftermath of disasters and calamities, such as typhoons and earthquakes.
