Since it began operating the water and wastewater system of eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province, East Zone concessionaire Manila Water has endeavored to provide 24/7 water supply to its current 7.4 million residents. Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Manila Water has been reliably supplying uninterrupted supply not only to residences but also to important public services institutions like hospitals and health care centers, despite majority of its raw water source coming from the almost 50-year-old Angat Dam.

Manila Water launches Mandaluyong City’s first microtunneling project

Manila Water piloted the first microtunneling technology in Mandaluyong City for the construction of the Mandaluyong West Sewer Network Package 1. The project is part of the Php785M Mandaluyong West, San Juan South and Quezon City South Sewerage System that includes the Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) complemented by a combined sewer network, which will cater to households in Mandaluyong, San Juan Cities, and a segment of Quezon City.

Manila Water’s TPSB program brings 24/7 water supply to marginalized communities

Launched in 1998, the program ‘Tubig Para Sa Barangay’ (TPSB) or Water for the Community continues to remain as Manila Water’s flagship program which is designed to provide access to safe and reliable water supply to urban poor communities in eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province. To date, Manila Water has completed more than 750 TPSB projects benefiting close to 2 million customers from marginalized communities including informal settlers and low-income households.
