Around 800 local government, barangay and community leaders from each city and municipality in the Metro Manila East Zone service area and the Province of Rizal gathered in a partners’ event organized by Manila Water at the UP Bahay ng Alumni, Quezon City.

With the theme “Building Back Better Together”, Manila Water showed appreciation to its partners who’ve shown full support to Manila Water through the years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the event, Manila Water reaffirmed its commitment in meeting its service obligations, ensuring access to 24/7 clean, drinking water and improved sanitation especially to marginalized communities.

“[To our partners] We’re very, very grateful for your support. We truly appreciate the work that you do… This event does not quantify the value that you have for us. We consider you as part of the Manila Water family.” De Dios shared.

Persistent and proactive engagement has been proven to be a highly effective strategy for Manila Water in sustaining strong relationships with stakeholders on the ground, who have become the Company’s extension to the community throughout the years.

It is also part of Manila Water’s improved Sustainability Agenda under “Helping Communities Thrive”, which focuses on working in partnership with the communities, government, civil society organizations, businesses, investors, and other stakeholders to create awareness, advocate sustainable practices, and respond to critical social needs and pressing environmental issues.

“Isa yan sa mga pinakamaganda nyong naisip na konsepto para yung mga tao, meron silang avenue na maibigay nila yung issues nila, kayo naman sa MWC, ma-address nyo yung mga problemang pwede nilang banggitin patungkol sa tubig dito sa atin. [Manila Water’s stakeholder engagement program has been one of the best concepts you’ve created for your customers, which serves as an avenue for them to communicate their concerns about water supply and for Manila Water to respond.] So far, you’ve been very, very successful in what you’ve done. There’s just a lot of communities now that are benefitting from the arrangements that we had, the meetings that we held, and the conferences that made sure that we get to resolve all these problems expeditiously,” former Cainta Mayor and currently Cainta Municipal Administrator Kit Nieto said.

“We want to express our gratitude [to Manila Water] for the remarkable support extended to our fisherfolks and the education sector through various initiatives. Your partnership and collaboration with the municipality of Cardona have undoubtedly made a positive impact on our community.” Cardona, Rizal Mayor Bernardo San Juan shared.
