Computing Your Water Bill

  1. Current Charges before tax:

    • A. Basic Charge: This covers the cost of operating, maintaining, improving and expanding the distribution network, as well as the facilities responsible for bringing potable water to the end user. The Basic Charge is based on the latest approved tariff schedule. Click here to download the Tariff Table.

    • B. Environmental Charge: Environmental Charge is necessary for the mitigation of ecological damage and the protection for the environment by ensuring wastewater treatment and removal of harmful chemicals and nutrients before it gets discharged to bodies of water.

    • C. Sewer Charge: Sewer charge is imposed upon commercial and industrial customers that are connected to our separate sewer lines. The quality of wastewater from this customer class is different and requires more treatment.

    • D. Maintenance Service Charge: This covers the maintenance of the water meter. The charge changes depending on the size of the water meter. The minimum charge is P1.50 for a 13-mm size meter.

  2. Government Taxes: Summation of Local Franchise Tax and National Franchise Tax

  3. Other Charges: If any, add other charges and previous unpaid amount to get the Total Amount Due.

Other Charges: These are special miscellaneous charges such as connection fees, unscheduled desludging of septic tank service fees, etc.

Previous Unpaid Amount: This pertains to charges billed prior to the billing period. This should be settled immediately together with the current charges to avoid disconnection of water service.

  4. Bill Adjustment: Pertains to all adjustments related to implementation of the Legislative Franchise of Manila Water. This generally include removal of 12% VAT and application of 2% National Franchise Tax and the actual rate of Local Franchise Tax implemented by the local government unit.
