Manila Water seals second water contract in Saudi Arabia

Manila Water’s consortium with French water distributor Saur Group and Saudi’s Miahona Company successfully clinched another seven-year water contract in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The National Water Company, Saudi Arabia’s state-run water agency, awarded the Management, Operations and Maintenance Contract (MOMC) to the consortium to undertake the operation of the water and environmental treatment services in the Eastern Cluster of the largest oil producer in the Middle East, with a population of 5.27 million and a supply demand of about 1,800 million liters of water per day. The cluster includes the cities of Dammam, Al Hofuf, Al Jubail, Al Khobar, Al Qatif and Hafar Al Batin.

Manila Water bags Pangasinan Bulk Water Supply Project

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan (PGP) presented the Notice of Award for the development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a bulk water facility within the Province of Pangasinan under a Concession Agreement to the consortium of Manila Water Company, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Manila Water Philippine Ventures, Inc.

Manila Water bags the Best Sustainability Award at “The Asset Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets Country & Regional Awards 2020”

East Zone concessionaire Manila Water bagged the Best Sustainability Bond in the corporate category at the recently held “The Asset Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets Country & Regional Awards 2020” virtual ceremony. Manila Water Company’s $US 500 M sustainability bond is the company’s debut bond issuance in the international capital markets. The issuance is the single largest sustainability bond issued by a listed private water utility in Asia and the first ASEAN sustainability bond by a corporate issuer out of the Philippines.

World Bank cites Manila Water as “Utility of the Future”

Manila Water, the water and wastewater service provider for the East Zone of Metro Manila and Rizal Province, was recently recognized by the World Bank for its commitment to become a “Utility of the Future”. Through the World Bank’s Water Global Practice’s Utilities of the Future lnitiative,  a “Utility of the Future” is defined as “a future-focused utility which provides reliable, safe, inclusive, transparent, and responsive water supply and sanitation services through best-fit practices that allow it to operate in an efficient, resilient, and sustainable manner”.
