Manila Water Company, Inc. inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Enterprise Singapore (ESG), a statutory board and economic agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) of the Government of Singapore, during “TechXchange,” the opening event of the Singapore International Water Week 2022 (SIWW).

The MOU aims to promote collaboration between Singapore companies for the test-bedding of water technologies in the concession areas of Manila Water across the East Zone and outside Metro Manila. The exchange was led by Manila Water Chief Operating Officer for Non-East Zone and International Businesses, Melvin John M. Tan, and ESG Assistant Chief Executive Officer, Geoffrey Yeo, and witnessed by ESG Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer, Jeffrey Siow.

TechXchange connects new and emerging water-related technologies with partners and investors. The forum, which intends to share best practices, promotes interactive debate and opportunities for networking, was opened by Guest of Honor Jeffrey Siow, last Sunday, 17 April 2022 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. He spoke about technology as a solution to water sustainability, as well as the importance of a vibrant start-up ecosystem for the local water industry.

The MOU exchange is a welcome opportunity for Manila Water as it continues to seek new and appropriate technologies that will further improve service delivery in the areas it serves, both locally and internationally.

Just recently, Manila Water has been shortlisted as one of the world’s top water service providers and is vying to become Water Company of the Year in the Global Water Awards this coming May.
