URGENT SERVICE ADVISORY: Emergency leak repair to cause water service interruption to 44.056 households

Due to an accidental breakage caused by a DPWH contractor, damaging our major pipeline at Elliptical Road corner Commonwealth Avenue (northbound) in Quezon City, Manila Water is currently undertaking emergency leak repairs which will result in temporary water service interruption affecting over 242,000 population in 44,056 households, commercial and business establishments in 20 barangays in Quezon City. The interconnection of the new 900mm relocated pipeline at the corner of North Avenue, which was previously planned for May 24 to 25, will also be undertaken at the same time to minimize impact to the affected customers. Estimated time of completion of works is at 6:00 AM tomorrow, Friday, May 24, 2019.

NOTICE OF WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION: Pipe relocation in Quezon City in relation to Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 7 construction

In line with the construction of the Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 7, Manila Water will be closing several valves on its major transmission lines along Elliptical Road in Quezon City to allow for the interconnection of the new 900mm relocated pipeline at the corner of North Avenue. This will result in temporary water service interruption affecting over 242,000 population in 44,056 households, commercial and business establishments in 20 barangays in Quezon City, beginning Friday, May 24, 2019 at 8:00 PM until 6:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2019.

Production of Manila Water’s Cardona Treatment Plant now up to 50 MLD

Manila Water’s Cardona Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is now distributing up to 50 million liters of water per day (MLD) initially to barangays in Binangonan, Angono, Taytay, Baras and Jalajala, Rizal. Other beneficiary areas in Rizal will soon receive water when the plant progressively increases production in the coming months. The Cardona WTP started its operations last March 14, 2019, following completion of Phase 1 of the project and will help augment the water supply for the East Zone.

Manila Water ramps up programs on used water management

Manila Water consistently intensifies its campaign towards proper wastewater management in Metro Manila’s East Zone through its Used Water Master Plan. The target for the company in terms of used water services is full sewer and sanitation coverage of its entire concession area by 2037. As of July 31, 2018, Manila Water has installed an aggregate of 135,251 sewer connections within the East Zone since the start of its concession period, serving a total of 186,480 households. For the whole of 2017, 1,783 new sewer connections were installed, benefiting 3,382 households, while 630 kilometers of sewer pipes were cleaned within the same period.
