NOTICE OF WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION: Pipe relocation in Quezon City in relation to Metro Rail Transit (MRT) 7 construction

Due to an accidental breakage caused by a DPWH contractor, damaging a major pipeline at Elliptical Road corner Commonwealth Avenue (northbound) in Quezon City, Manila Water is currently undertaking emergency leak repairs which resulted in temporary water service interruption affecting over 242,000 population in 44,056 households, commercial and business establishments in 20 barangays in Quezon City. 

The interconnection of the new 900mm relocated pipeline at Elliptical Road corner North Avenue (related to the MRT 7 construction), which was previously originally scheduled on May 24 to 25, will now be undertaken at the same time to minimize impact to the affected customers.

Estimated time of completion of works is at 6:00 AM, Friday, May 24, 2019.

In line with the construction of the Manila Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 7, Manila Water will be closing several valves on its major transmission lines along Elliptical Road in Quezon City to allow for the interconnection of the new 900mm relocated pipeline at the corner of North Avenue. This will result in temporary water service interruption affecting over 242,000 population in 44,056 households, commercial and business establishments in 20 barangays in Quezon City, beginning Friday, May 24, 2019 at 8:00 PM until 6:00 AM, Saturday, May 25, 2019.

Alicia Pasong Tamo
Santo Cristo Central
Bagong Pag-asa Malaya
Old Capitol Site Pinyahan
Vasra Sikatuna Village
Project 6 San Vicente
Culiat Teachers Village East
New Era Teachers Village West
Bahay Toro U.P. Village

Outside of the activity hours, some of these areas may still experience water service interruptions related to our ongoing supply management due to the still-limited raw water supply.

As such, Manila Water is advising residents of the said barangays to store enough water when possible to supply their needs during this interruption period.
