East Zone concessionaire Manila Water bared its desludging schedule for the months of February and March this year as it continues to encourage its customers to avail of the septic tank siphoning services without the need to pay for any additional cost.

Beginning February until March, Manila Water desludging tankers will be at Welfareville Compound, Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City and continuation at Barangay Buayang Bato, Mandaluyong City; Barangay Muzon and Upper Dolores in Taytay, Rizal; Barangays Matandang Balara, Obrero, Pansol, Laging Handa and Culiat in Quezon City; and in Barangays San Roque and Santo Rosario-Silangan in Pateros. Residents of these areas can avail of desludging services by simply coordinating with their respective barangays for the exact schedule.

For the month of March, Manila Water customers in barangays Concepcion Uno and Parang in Marikina City; Brgy. Pinagbuhatan in Pasig, Brgy. Plainview in Mandaluyong; Brgys. 792, 793, 866, 869, 873, 874, 875, 876 all in Manila; Brgy. Progreso in San Juan; San Isidro in Antipolo; Brgys. Calzada and Western Bicutan in Taguig can also avail of the same desludging services.

Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Head Jeric Sevilla Jr. underscores the importance of septic tank cleaning and siphoning every five years to ensure that all the wastewater collected from the septic vaults will undergo proper treatment through Manila Water’s septage treatment plants before they are discharged to the creeks, rivers, and other waterways. These will prevent clogging of septic vaults and the overflow of untreated wastewater to the different bodies of water which will cause pollution.

“Customers need not wait for their septic tanks to be full before they can avail of our desludging services. It is recommended that whether the septic tank is full or not, customers are encouraged to avail of the service if their barangay is scheduled,” Sevilla adds.

Manila Water customers can also call the company’s Customer Help Desk 1627 to inquire on the schedule of the desludging service in their barangays.
