CEMEX Holdings Philippines, Inc. (CHP) and Manila Water Company, Inc. (Manila Water) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate and explore opportunities of mutual interest to meet both parties’ corporate sustainability objectives.

Manila Water received a Management B rating for its 2022 CDP Climate Change and Water Security Disclosures, improving its Climate Change rating from Awareness level (C) to Management level (B) while maintaining the management level rating in Water Security. CDP, formerly Carbon Disclosure Project, aims to make environmental reporting and risk management a business norm, driving disclosure, insight, and action toward a sustainable economy.

Given the threat of climate change, East Zone concessionaire Manila Water is implementing nature-based solutions including the protection, rehabilitation, and enhancement of watersheds to address the increasing risk of deteriorating raw water quality due to soil erosion during heavy rainfall and typhoons.

Manila Water announces its desludging schedule for the month of October, urging its customers to avail of the desludging services with no extra fees, to avoid overflowing septic tanks which can cause damage to their properties and hazard to the community and the environment.

In celebration of this year’s International Coastal Clean-up Day and in observance of the National Cleanup Month, Manila Water joined simultaneous cleanup activities in different parts of Metro Manila last Saturday, 17 September 2022.
