Manila Water Foundation, through its environmental sustainability program, Likas, recently handed over fishing gears and equipment to enhance and enable the livelihood of fisherfolk under Project Katig.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Emory University – Center for Global Safe Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene formally introduce the full-scale implementation of Wastewater-Based Epidemiology (WBE) for SARS-CoV-2 in the Philippines, in partnership with Manila Water.

Manila Water, through the Manila Water Foundation, led the pilot run of WASH-Aralan: The WASH in Schools Caravan in General Roxas Elementary School in Quezon City, which aims to empower student-leaders in leading and campaigning for Water Access, Sanitation, and Hygiene or WASH in schools.

Since it began operating the water and wastewater system of eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province, East Zone concessionaire Manila Water has endeavored to provide 24/7 water supply to its current 7.4 million residents. Even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, Manila Water has been reliably supplying uninterrupted supply not only to residences but also to important public services institutions like hospitals and health care centers, despite majority of its raw water source coming from the almost 50-year-old Angat Dam.

Manila Water piloted the first microtunneling technology in Mandaluyong City for the construction of the Mandaluyong West Sewer Network Package 1. The project is part of the Php785M Mandaluyong West, San Juan South and Quezon City South Sewerage System that includes the Aglipay Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) complemented by a combined sewer network, which will cater to households in Mandaluyong, San Juan Cities, and a segment of Quezon City.
