For the month of April, the desludging caravan of East Zone concessionaire Manila Water will go around 43 barangays in Metro Manila and Rizal to provide septic tank cleaning to its customers at no additional cost.

In Rizal, customers from Barangay Calumpang, Batingan and Bilibiran in Binangonan can have their septic tanks siphoned by Manila Water in April, as well as the customers in Barangay Burgos, San Isidro, and San Jose in Rodriguez; San Isidro, Sto. Domingo and San Juan in Cainta; and San Isidro in Angono.

Manila Water continues to encourage its customers to avail the desludging service every 5-7 years, to avoid the hassle of overflowing septic tanks that can cause the spread of diseases and incur additional costs on their end.

Manila Water also urges its customers to attend the information, education, and communication campaigns (IECs) conducted by the Company’s Advocacy Managers and Service Area representatives before the scheduled desludging in their barangay, to further understand the benefits of desludging, what to do and how to prepare their septic tanks, how wastewater is treated in Manila Water’s sewage treatment plants (wastewater trail) and the importance of desludging and wastewater treatment to the environment.

“Having your septic tanks siphoned by Manila Water ensures that all wastewater collected will undergo proper treatment and will be free from contaminants before being discharged back to bodies of water. Through the conduct of IECs, we hope to spread awareness and better appreciation of the benefits of desludging and wastewater treatment to the environment and the health of our customers,” says Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Director.

“These IECs also serve as an avenue for Manila Water to personally check on our customers, to hear their comments and suggestions for service improvement and respond to their concerns.” he added.

To know the schedule of IECs and the actual visit of the desludging caravan in your barangay, customers may contact their respective barangay council or call the Manila Water Consumer Desk Hotline 1627.
