Sabi ni ‘Nay, Maghugas ng Kamay: Hygiene campaign for PNP regional offices, communities launched

LINGAP KAPULISAN: The Philippine National Police, PNP Officers’ Ladies Club, Soroptimist International of Kaagapay, and Manila Water Foundation joined hands to launch a hygiene campaign in each of the 17 PNP Regional Offices across the country.

Aiming to protect the police force and their communities against communicable diseases such as COVID-19 through water access, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), the Philippine National Police (PNP), PNP Officers’ Ladies Club (PNP OLC), Soroptimist International (SI) of Kaagapay, and Manila Water Foundation (MWF) joined hands to launch a hygiene campaign dubbed as Sabi ni ‘Nay Maghugas ng Kamay: Lingap Kapulisan in each of the 17 PNP Regional Offices across the country.

The parties formalized the partnership during the PNP Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Crame, Quezon City, on June 28. The event highlighted partnerships through the  Deed of Donation (DOD) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the PNP, PNP OLC, SI Kaagapay, and MWF. Under the agreement, the parties shall promote good health and wellbeing among police personnel and community members within the 17 PNP Regional Offices by building multi-faucet hygiene facilities in all project sites across the country.


The Philippine National Police, PNP Officers’ Ladies Club, Soroptimist International of Kaagapay, and Manila Water Foundation formalized the partnership for the program Sabi ni ‘Nay, Maghugas ng Kamay: Lingap Kapulisan during the PNP Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Crame, Quezon City, on June 28.

In a message, PNP OLC Adviser Rosalie Eleazar shared, "Sabi ni ‘Nay Maghugas ng Kamay is a project that has been initially envisioned to happen one year ago. [The Program] will provide WASH areas in partnership with the Manila Water Foundation, the PNP OLC, and the Soroptimist International all geared towards cleanliness—aligning our projects at the PNP OLC and the Soroptimist International with [PNP’s] intensified cleanliness policy.”

MWF, the social development arm of the Manila Water Company, shall be overseeing the installation of the facilities for their proper use and function at the premises of the agreed project sites.

“MWF is honored to lead this synergy which enables our mission of bringing WASH for all communities. We will be able to protect the health and well-being of our police force as they carry out their noble duty of ensuring a safe and secured place live, work and do business,” MWF Executive Director Reginald Andal said.

MWF targets to complete the project by the end of September 2021.
