Manila Water Company again validated its preeminent standing among professional groups in the country when it won the award for strategic visioning and partnership for business and job survival during the recent awards ceremony of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP)‘s Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Awards.

Manila Water won the award while making the list of six finalists in the prestigious awards program, a biennial program undertaken by the ECOP to honor enterprises that have excelled in the fields of industrial relations, productivity and quality, social accountability, and strategic visioning.
Manila Water was cited in recognition of its “sincere and active efforts in partnering and networking with other business organizations, labor, government institutions and civil society organizations to ensure cooperation and mutual survival.”
The category also takes into consideration programs that directly or indirectly increase the availability of jobs at the enterprise, industry and community levels. More than 20 companies vied for the coveted plum in a total of six categories.
The KAPATID Award was actually a fitting followup to Manila Waters Outstanding Employer of the Year Award that was conferred on the company by the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines last year, reinforcing once more the high regard that professional and business groups have for the accomplishments, philosophy and direction the water concessionaire has shown over the past 10 years.
Making the KAPATID Award even more impressive is the fact that Manila Water took part in the biennial competitions for the very first time. The award was conferred by no less than President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at a special ceremony that coincided with the ECOP’s 28th National Conference held at the Manila Hotel last March 21.
