Nearly 1,500 households from Barangay San Martin de Porres, Sitio Sto. Niño, Sitio De Asis and East Service Road from Bicutan Interchange to Km. 18 Daughters of Charity in Parañaque City will now receive 24-hour supply of clean and potable drinking water from Manila Water.

Said areas, which used to be under the services of Metro Manila West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water, were recently turned over to Manila Water upon the Homeowners Associations’ request after a series of discussions with Maynilad Water and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) Regulatory Office.
The newly turned over areas will form part of Manila Water’s Taguig Business Area.
Addressing the local government officials, community representatives and other guests at the turnover ceremony, Manila Water Business Group Director Rene Almendras discussed the company’s service improvement plans which include rectifying and extending existing mainlines, installing additional water service connections and converting deepwell users to surface water supply.
For his part, Parañaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr., thanked Manila Water, Maynilad Water and the MWSS Regulatory Office for the successful turnover which will pave the way for better water services for his constituents. He also encouraged all parties including the communities to actively support the project for it to be successful.
