Manila Water Joins Jalajala's Centennial Celebration

Posted: Tuesday April 24, 2007

Unknown with many, Jalajala is a small quiet town at the farthest end of the province of Rizal which recently celebrated its 100th year. The celebration led by Mayor Elionor Pillas kicked off with the Centennial Parade with “Tuloy sa Pagsulong, Jalajala sa ika-100 Taon” as its theme. The affair was well-attended with no less than the French Ambassador Gerard Chesnel as the special guest.

Manila Water has actively participated in the festivities as it now begins to expand its coverage outside the eastern section of Metro Manila. The entire Rizal Province is also under the concession area of the Ayala-owned water concessionaire. The ongoing Jalajala Water System Project is designed to supply water to three barangays. Also recently, the newly-acquired mobile drinking water treatment plant was also tested in the town which has the capability of transforming raw water: lakewater, murky or brackish water in safe potable water in just a few hours.
