Manila Water joins Habitat in FTI and BASECO

Posted: Tuesday April 3, 2007

Even before Manila Water sealed its partnership with Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HFHP) by way of a Memorandum of Agreement, the East Zone concessionaire has been very supportive of the various activities of Habitat even if some of the initiatives have extended beyond the concession area. Just recently, Manila Water and its team of volunteers trooped to Rotaryville Family Townhomes at the Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI) Complex in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City and to the Baseco Bagong Buhay Village in Barangay 649, Port Area, Manila.

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo visited both sites and congratulated all the volunteers who provided support in the noteworthy projects of Habitat. Manila Water fielded its Sagip Buhay Responder team as well as provided potable drinking water for the volunteers. An exhibit of Manila Water’s biosolids management program was also showcased during the the dedication of the first 1,000 homes of the Baseco Bagong Buhay Village.
