Area Business Manager Joey Cadorna led the contingent of Manila Water as he paid a courtesy call to Manila Mayor Fred Lim to showcase the completed projects and future service improvement plans of the East Zone concessionaire.
Though Manila Water only covers 9% of the city of Manila, 100% of this has already 24-hour water availability with more than adequate pressure. Cadorna also detailed the investments that Manila Water has undertaken for the City – from total pipe replacements in all of the covered streets, to the laying of the new A. Rita Line and the famous blue walkway beside the Lambingan Bridge.
Mayor Lim thanked Manila Water for conducting sustainable development and corporate social responsibility programs in his city, especially the Lingap Eskwela, a water and sanitation improvement program for public elementary and high schools. Mayor Lim also reiterated his commitment to support the company in the fight against illegal connections and tampering of water meters, as well as the unauthorized drawing of water from fire hydrants.
