IFC CEO Lars Thunell inaugurates new Manila Water GPOBA project in Taguig

International Finance Corporation Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer Lars Thunell (right) was recently in Manila to inaugurate a joint GPOBA (Global Partnership on Output-Based Aid) and Manila Water project in Taguig.

The new project in Lower Bicutan, Taguig, will benefit 250 households or more than 1,500 residents. GPOBA is a program admnistered by the World Bank that provides local residents funding assistance for their water service connection thru the Tubig Para Sa Barangay community projects of Manila Water. Todate, GPOBA-TPSB projects have benefited thousands of low-income families all over the East Zone. Present during the inauguration were IFC Director for Far East Asia and Pacific Karen Finkelston, IFC Country Manager Jesse Ang and Manila Water president Antonino T. Aquino.
