Posted: Wednesday May 9, 2007

As part of Manila Water’s sustainable development programs, safe and potable water is supplied to city jails and other government institutions which are commonly patronized by the city’s urban poor.

One of these programs is dubbed as Patubig sa City Jail, which aims to promote hygiene and sanitation among detainees through improved water supply and sanitation program. The latest institution to benefit from this program is Cainta Municipal Jail which houses 304 inmates in the facility as well as 20 employees. Faucets were installed per cell block along with a drinking fountain for the inmates.
